Destiny Buescher, LCSW

I’m Destiny Buescher, and I help humans heal from mental and emotional suffering. My work with people involves a deep look into their inner world. Humans who come my way often do so after feeling completely lost, unmotivated, heartbroken, and unsure of who they really are. This type of therapy is not a good fit for individuals wanting to remain at the surface. If you’re ready to go deep and get closer to who you are at your core…this work is for you.

Therapists can vary significantly in their style, treatment approach, and philosophy. It's essential to consider this when selecting the person who will be your partner through this journey. Here's a brief look into how I work with clients.

  • What is your session rate?
Individual Therapy Sessions: $125 per 50-minute session Family Therapy Sessions: $135 per 50-minute session I will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate before the start of your first session. Blue Hour Counseling is an out-of-network provider. I do not directly accept insurance but will provide you with a detailed invoice you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Contact your insurance plan to discuss your out-of-network benefits. I will provide detailed instructions to clients unfamiliar with requesting reimbursement.
  • How often do I need to attend sessions?
Clients are required to commit to weekly or biweekly visits. Therapy requires intention and effort on a consistent basis to gain positive client outcomes.
  • How long will I be in therapy?
The duration of therapy for individuals varies considerably. The number of sessions a client needs ultimately depends on several factors, including the severity of symptoms, desired treatment goals, regular attendance, an openness to applying what's learned during the session to daily life, and client satisfaction.
  • What is involved in the initial consultation?
This free, 15-minute phone call is a chance for you to discuss some of your critical mental health concerns and to help you better understand Blue Hour Counseling's approach to therapy. You will not receive any diagnosis or treatment during this short consultation.
  • What happens in a therapy session?
In your first few sessions, your therapist will aim to create a space of comfort and warmth, so you feel safe exploring any thoughts, emotions, and life stressors you may be struggling with. Once you and your therapist have established trust in the therapeutic relationship, your therapist will utilize various strategies to help you detangle unhelpful thought patterns, regulate uncomfortable emotions, increase self-awareness and compassion, communicate effectively in your relationships, heal from previous trauma, and learn how to make decisions based on what you value most.
  • What is online therapy?
Online therapy, also referred to as telehealth, allows people to connect with a mental health therapist online who is licensed to practice in their state. Live video sessions are the most common form of online therapy. Blue Hour Counseling is equipped to provide online treatment to clients across Texas via a secure, HIPPA-compliant platform. Online counseling will allow you flexibility when attending sessions and even offer you the convenience of "going to therapy" without leaving your home or office. There is consistent evidence that shows no difference in the effectiveness of online versus traditional counseling methods. Many clients prefer online counseling as it allows them even greater flexibility within their schedule and the ability to attend therapy from the comfort of their familiar surroundings. Clients can even continue treatment while away on business or vacation. Blue Hour Counseling is passionate about creating a safe, supportive online space for Texas residents, regardless of location.
  • Is telehealth therapy difficult to use?
If you are familiar with using a computer, phone, or tablet, engaging in a telehealth session can be straightforward, similar to doing a video call. Blue Hour Counseling will gladly help you set up what you need to engage in telehealth sessions if you do not know how to do so. Blue Hour Counseling is well versed in providing online therapy to clients across Texas.
  • What if I only want to do sessions in person?
Clients can choose whether they would like to meet in person, online, or both. Some situations make it unsafe for clients to meet exclusively online. Your therapist will communicate with you if it is safer and necessary to meet in person rather than online.
